ANAC
Data Exchange Open for Year V Member Data Entry

Member institutional research offices have
been invited to submit 2002-03 institutional data to the ANAC Data
Exchange with a target date of August 11 to complete the process.
Much of the data has been taken off IPEDS and pre-loaded for member
convenience. A good deal of the data the Exchange collects, however,
is geared towards outcomes and is not gathered by IPEDS. During
August the data will be checked for accuracy and completeness with
the goal of opening the Exchange for member benchmarking and institutional
comparisons by October 1. A hard copy report will be prepared during
the fall analyzing longitudinal trends that may be revealed through
the five years of member data the Exchange has assembled.

Drake-Drury
Distance Learning Pilot Highlights ANAC Online Learning Initiative

Through the efforts of the ANAC Online
Learning Committee and the interests of a number of faculty and
staff at Drake and Drury universities, the two ANAC
members are collaborating on distance learning offerings at the
two institutions this summer. Ten courses at each institution are
part of the pilot, providing students cross-registration access
to the 20 pilot courses. Seventy students are taking advantage of
the program. Among the goals of the pilot are to increase options
for students at each university and to create a greater diversity
of students in each class.
Students will be surveyed at the end of the summer to evaluate
their experiences in the program. Drury courses in the pilot are
Abnormal Psychology, Creative Writing, Introduction to Criminology,
Introduction to Law for Legal Assistant, Gangs, Lewis and Clark,
Media Writing, Minority Groups, Religions of the World: Far East
and virology. Drake is offering Accounting I and II; Calculus I;
Expedition of Lewis and Clark; Management Operations; Modern Latin
America; Peace-building and Post-Conflict. Justice; Revisiting the
Vietnam War; The Classics: Then and Now; and Women and Politics.
