Types of Opportunities - International

Featured Programs
As a student at one of the 21 New American Colleges and Universities, you have access to several distinctive international study opportunities offered by other ANAC institutions. These are known as ‘featured programs.’

ANACSA featured programs reflect your own institution’s commitment to providing the highest quality opportunities for study abroad, and most important, do so at a reasonable cost! Check with your foreign study advisor to see which programs apply to your institution.

Featured programs vary in structure, but usually include opportunities for field study, guided travel opportunities, internships, and special projects. Each program has been carefully developed and refined over time by one of our member institutions. Some provide opportunities for students majoring in fields such as engineering, nursing, or education, majors for which study abroad can often present scheduling challenges.

Credits earned during a semester abroad through ANACSA are guaranteed to transfer back to the student’s home institution.

Institutions offering featured programs agree to reserve at least two spaces for students from other ANAC institutions.

The goals of ANACSA international study programs are to ensure that you have an opportunity to become part of the country and culture in which you are studying. Immersion in the culture is key. Most programs are interdisciplinary and are open to students regardless of major.

Once you have been accepted in a program, you pay tuition and room and board at your home institution as you would if you were in residence on campus (some institutions may charge a “study away” fee in addition to normal student fees for the semester). Your home institution is billed directly by the institution running the program. Your own institution’s policies regarding financial aid for study abroad usually apply to participation in ANACSA programs.
