| Samford University’s picturesque 200-acre campus is nestled in beautiful Shades Valley of the Appalachian foothills in north central Alabama. Six miles south of Birmingham city center, the Samford campus is nationally-recognized for its Georgian-Colonial architecture and landscaping. The focus of the university is a central Quadrangle, affectionately known as the Quad, which is a gathering place for students and a popular outdoor classroom on beautiful spring and fall days. |

| Undergraduate research opportunities are a hallmark of the Samford University academic experience. Students are mentored by full-time faculty members and in recent years have done research in the sciences, nutrition and dietetics, exercise science and sports medicine, business, the humanities, the arts and other academic disciplines. Students participating in the Samford Undergraduate Research Program can apply for special grants to assist in their projects. |

Samford University’s Brock School of Business has several nationally-recognized programs, including social entrepreneurship. Students responsible for the Bulldog Fund, a special university endowment fund of about $1 million, have learned the importance of investing in the university’s financial future. |

Samford University’s School of the Arts is an important part of the metropolitan and regional arts communities. Through music, theatre, dance and art, students learn their craft while providing more than 100 cultural opportunities for the community during the year. Samford’s fine arts complex also is the home venue for The Alabama Ballet, Opera Birmingham, SuperJazz and the Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster chamber series. |
